The perfect combination of the different areas of the Menetou-Salon region. ‘Les bornés’, which means ‘clay soil’ in Berrichon, the local dialect from the Berry region of France, is an aromatic wine. The nose is reminiscent of the grape variety and the taste is full, rich and tender.
A truly pleasurable wine that will reach its fullest potential in 2 to 3 years.

A blend of 7 parcels from the highest slopes of the appellation. This location (cool yet sunny climate) and this soil (Kimmeridgian marl) give this wine a subtle, pure nose with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits.
The taste is racy and cristalline, clear with a citrus fruit taste initially followed by a saline and mineral finish. Nothing overly exuberant: just clarity and
precision.

Fruit and freshness with a light tannin note. The terroir of the village of Morogues combined with hard work provides us with this beautiful example of a Pinot. The complexity is definitely there, thanks to the blending of grapes grown on 3 areas situated on Kimmeridgian and hard limestone. A beautiful wine that sometimes needs to be aged for a while, but the pleasure is always there.

The potential of this unique terroir in the northern quarter of the appellation of Menetou-Salon Morogues was recognized and planted by Henry Pellé as long ago as 1976. For here, in the “lieu dit” known locally as “Le Carroir”, is silex or “flint”: a light sandy terroir pebble-dashed with flintstones. Such terroirs are now world famous for imbuing Sauvignon blanc with a purity of flavor matched to structure, substance and a long finish. Such wines can be enjoyed young but are often even better three or more years after their release.

The Morogues community is a sun-baked (south-west facing) locale where the mineral-rich source rock is only a few centimetres from our feet and where the Ratier parcel can be found. A full bodied wine, where notes of fleshy white fruits are underlined by hints of pepper and linked to a unique minerality. Here the grape is demure and allows the richness of this special region to shine through. A richness that takes shape and increases year on year.

Its terroir provides its strength and its exposure provides its freshness. At the start of the 1980’s, a passion for the vine inspired Domaine Pellé to separately vinify our premier clos: Les Blanchais. We rightly believed that the complexity of the land is reflected in the wine…. These old vines deliver power and length in both the nose and on the palate. Citrus and vegetable notes melt into minerality without ever being too heavy or too exuberant.

The Cris’ parcel dominates our estate. Situated above the cave, it nowextends over 10 hectares. The first hectares were planted by Henry Pellé in 1960. For this vintage we choose grapes that come from the vines at the heart of the plot - where the vine is in direct contact with the Kimmeridgian marl. This yields a wine of beautiful complexity with a great tension that needs to wait for several years (if possible) before reaching the table.

Les Cris parcel dominates our estate. Situated above the wine cellars, it is devoted entirely to Pinot Noir. The first vines were planted by Henry Pellé in 1967. Exposure is from east to west which provides differing grape
maturities over the course of one week of harvesting. Les Cris offers us a beautifully dense Pinot Noir that is always well-built with the tannin framework mixing marvellously with both fruit and freshness. A great wine for mealtimes.

Since 1982, our estate has been cultivating 4 hectares of Sancerre in the village of Montigny. The ‘Caillotes’ type of pebbly clay and limestone soil produces beautifully fine wines with great regularity. We have recently acquired 2 additional hectares of vines growing on Kimmeridgian marl from another winemaker. This acquisition allows us to obtain a beautifully aromatic wine that mixes citrus and floral notes underpinned by a beautiful minerality.

Planted on ‘Caillotes’ (pebbly limestone soil), these vines produce a beautifully dense wine. The fruit is present, yet contained within a lovely tannin framework. A wine that deserves to wait at least one year, then to be enjoyed within 5 years.
